Abbott Reports First Global Procedure in the Study of Volt Pulsed Field Ablation System for Abnormal Heart Rhythms

- Abbott has conducted the first global procedure using the Volt Pulsed Field Ablation (PFA) System for treating abnormal heart rhythms like atrial fibrillation (AFib). It also treated 30 patients under (Volt CE Mark) study, aimed at assessing the safety and efficacy of the Volt PFA System, in Australia
- The Volt PFA System combines the balloon-in-basket catheter with the EnSite X EP System to improve accuracy in ablation procedures for better contact with targeted heart tissue while the balloon transfers energy efficiently to enhance the creation of lesions for stopping erratic heart signals
- Additionally, the company expects to secure approval for the US clinical study (IDE) to evaluate the Volt PFA System in the H1’24
